Ausstellung zu Boston, Massachusetts, Ver. St. Der Vorstand des Börsenvereins hat von dem hiesigen Vice- consul der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, Hrn. Friedr. Nachod, folgende Mittheilung erhalten: „Hierdurch beehre ich mich Sie davon in Kenntniß zu setzen, daß am 1. September a. c. in Boston, Mass., eine Orunä AxLibitio» eröffnet werden wird. „Ich erlaube mir, das diesbezügliche Einladungs - Circular, welches zugleich die näheren Bestimmungen der Ausstellung ent hält (Folgt nachstehend sub G. Zur Buchhändler-Literatur. — Die so außerordentlich vielfältigen Beziehungen gerade des Buchhändlers zu der Schriftsteller- und Künstlerwelt sollen als Rechtfertigung dafür gelten, daß an dieser Stelle ebenso, wie in Nr. 274 vor. Jahrgs. aus „Bornmüller, Schriftsteller-Lexikon der Gegenwart", auf das untengenannte Buch hingewiesen wird. Zwar will man eine feine Schmeichelei darin finden, wenn in Kunstausstellungen und an sonstigen Orten, welche der Präsentation von Kunstwerken dienen, über dem Schauen und Genießen derselben des Urhebers vergessen wird. Diesem wäre jedoch hierdurch wenig gedient. Auch im Publicum denken nicht Alle so. Viele, welche der Kunst zugethan sind, wählen sich unter den Künstlern bevorzugte Lieb linge, durch welche sie angeregt, erhoben, gefesselt und hingerissen werden, und können es kaum erwarten, ein neues Werk des be treffenden Favoriten kennen zu lernen und zu bewundern. Leider geben die Kunstausstellungs-Kataloge meist nur sehr magere Brocken über die Person und den Lebens- und Bildungsgang des Künstlers, dessen Werke so anziehend erscheinen, und dem der Beschauer, wenn persönlich nicht möglich, doch durch Lectüre sich nähern möchte.
